Reviving the Golden Age of Opera one voice at a time

About

"One part of the lay world says that there are no longer real voices, and the other that there is no longer any talent. Neither is right. Voices still exist, and talent too, but the things which have changed are the study of the breath, of vocalization and of classic repertory, as cultivated by the singers of former times"

- Giovanni Battista Lamperti

What has happened to the great tradition of Bel Canto singing?

The operatic art form has been through a period like this once before.  At that time, the work of a handful of voice teachers created a great resurgence in opera, producing what is now known as the golden age of singing.  Thanks to the Italian school of Bel Canto, for much of the 20th Century great singing was the rule and not the exception.

Bel Canto Forum is an attempt to rebuild the legacy of this great school of singing known as historic Bel Canto.  It is a library of every resource imaginable on singing with this technique, which produced voices of power, richness, and beauty virtually unequaled in our own time.

So join us!  Learn about historic Bel Canto, try it for yourself, and discuss your results with others.  We can be the next "golden generation" of singers.
